Hiking in Northern Cyprus

1. Lefke

Lifke is a small town, not too touristy but is visited by many Sufis, pilgrims from around the world where their where their sheikh had lived and was buried. The city is located on the hills surrounded by orange groves. The city boasts of many historical buildings and inexpensive cafes.

2. Gemikonaği

The village is situated on the seafront, it also has a lot of cafes.

2. Soli

It is an ancient Greek city, dates back to about the 6th century BC. It was known as one of the ten kingdoms on the island, but was abandoned by its inhabitants as a result of Arab raids. What remains today is the mosaic floor of the basilica with dipicted birds, animals and geometric shapes and a picture of a swan. There is a theatre that  has been reinstated to best it can be to its near original state.

4. Vouni Palace

Vouni Palace was built near the V century BC in order to keep control of the city of Soli, and its inhabitants. The building was destroyed by fire in 380 BC, after which the inhabitants abandoned it. The palace complex consists of a total of 137 rooms, built on three levels and is located on a hill to the west of the ancient city of Soli. With his features beautiful views.

5. Yeşilırmak

The best strawberries growing in Cyprus is in Yesilirmak. In this village grows grapevine which was entered in the Guinness Book of Records.
